Only one in 20 European automobile companies are truly LEAN
The LEAN Enterprise Study 2008, carried out by J&M Management Consulting, revealed that only about five percent of all the companies in the automobile industry operate ideal business processes from the viewpoint of LEAN manufacturing. Although on paper the sector deploys carefully conceived and detailed processes incorporating TS16949 and other ISO certifications very few companies actually apply these standards to their own organisation.
