Supply Chain Management (SCM) Training
You have decided to undertake an SCM project or have already carried one through? Then you know that such a project does not merely consist of project planning, implementation and integration of the software. The success of such a project depends last but not least on the employees themselves, as it is them who have to come to grasps with changed procedures and new technologies. It is for this reason that SCM training is also part and parcel of supply chain management, aimed at promoting acceptance and the basic understanding of the employees as regards supply chain management. J&M Management Consulting AG offers the highly practice-orientated and interactive Actensive ™ SCM training, which makes use of business games and case studies. The many years experience and thorough training undergone by our instructors are a guarantee for the effectiveness of the courses we offer.
In addition to the public seminars, J&M has also specialized in running customer-specific courses and in-house trainings.
Benefits of SCM Training
- Motivation for the employees to actively support SCM due to a greater understanding of the advantages, risks and challenges it entails.
- As employees are made aware of the risks of an SCM project, it is possible to avoid errors which may otherwise occur when employees encounter altered processes.
- What is learnt during the course can be put into practice directly in the company thanks to the highly practical nature of the course.
- Rapid and effective learning possible as the seminars are made up of employees from various departments within the company and are interactive in nature.
Methods
- Actensive™ Supply Chain Simulation
In this business game, the course participants have to manage the individual processes in the supply chain. This gives them a rapid insight into cause and effect relationships between individual SCM components (e.g. reasons for excessive warehouse stocks and delivery problems).
- Case studies
The use of case studies ensures that the course is practice-oriented. The participants use special SCM planning software developed by J&M which enables them to grasp the concept of an advanced planning system quickly.
What we offer in the area of SCM training
- Management Seminar
The Management Seminar is predominantly aimed at those responsible for taking decisions regarding the implementation of SCM projects. During the Management Seminar, information is given regarding the benefits, risks and costs entailed by introducing SCM. This gives the participants on the course a basis on which to make a qualified decision regarding the implementation of the project.
- Focus Training
In this module, case studies and the business game “Supply Chain Simulation” are used to give the course participants an insight into the way in which the advanced planning system (APS) works and the effects of an SCM project on business processes. This leads to increased knowledge in this area and better acceptance of an SCM project.
- Extended Training
The participants are taught how best to cope with the organizational and technical challenges which arise in the company’s IT environment as a result of the integration of APS. The related costs and expenditure is also looked at. Work with case studies helps the participants to come to grips quickly with the course content. Accordingly, the course helps to avoid errors being made when dealing with the altered business processes.
- Project Training
The employees are taught the best-practice approaches (e.g. the SCOR model) for implementing the SCM processes according to plan. The course is further enhanced by the final case study in which the individual project phases are stimulated. The participants can then exploit the methods they have come up with to tap the full potential of the SCM projects.
